Three tips for great beach portraits with Grandma

As parents you naturally want photos of your kids growing up…but what about after they’re grown?  You don’t stop loving each other, or making memories together, just because the years have continued to pass.

(The hubs and I’ve been trying for years and no, no matter how much you tickle them they just won’t stop growing. ;p)

Sometimes the fact that everyone has grown up and gone their separate ways is the best reason to capture the moment on those rare occasions when you DO get together. These casual family beach portraits, taken when my sister and her crew were visiting from South Carolina, were the first time my siblings and I had been in any photos together since we were kids. I think you can see from the look on her face how much these multi-generational family photos meant to my mom..

Romantic Couple Portraits – Sunset Beach

The weather was SO not cooperating when we went out to try for some romantic sunset shots of Paul (the dear hubby) and I a couple days ago.  But Tim managed to capture a few lovely images before the storms chased us off the beach..

Candice & Emma – Flamingo Resort

We met with these lovely ladies down at the Flamingo Resort in St. Pete, where they were staying for a weekend getaway.  Knowing they’d be game for a walk on the wild side we suggested a little something different for their portraits.  (Imagine me doing my best Beavis impression “Fire! Fire!”)

St. Pete Beach Adult Portraits – Kathy

Pinellas suncoast senior business executive portraits
The executive portrait

Kathy’s a single woman who runs a very successful consulting firm.  She came to us for some fresh images to use on her business websites & profiles but also confessed that she’d love to have something a little more daring to use on  So after doing the traditional executive portrait thing inside we ventured outside her gorgeous St Pete Beach home to capture some rather more fabulous images.  Kathy was a great patron to work with, beautiful and bright and with SUCH a lovely figure!  It was a pleasure to help her show it off in these Beachcomber Photography images.  🙂
