Their moms were dreaming of having photos of their baby boys all grown up and all dressed up. Cousins Lance & Bryce just wanted senior pictures that looked wicked cool. We took them to hip downtown St. Pete and I think we managed to hit both targets, don’t you agree?
Our boy Anik from Boca Ciega HS is into bodybuilding so we took some time to show off the results of his hard work. We love how the lighting in these images highlights those chiseled muscles!
And then a slight change in pose and light and whoomp, it’s like he’s a whole different boy. I don’t think I’ll ever stop being amazed at the magic of photography for capturing facets of our selves that we maybe don’t normally see.
As parents you naturally want photos of your kids growing up…but what about after they’re grown? You don’t stop loving each other, or making memories together, just because the years have continued to pass.
(The hubs and I’ve been trying for years and no, no matter how much you tickle them they just won’t stop growing. ;p)
Sometimes the fact that everyone has grown up and gone their separate ways is the best reason to capture the moment on those rare occasions when you DO get together. These casual family beach portraits, taken when my sister and her crew were visiting from South Carolina, were the first time my siblings and I had been in any photos together since we were kids. I think you can see from the look on her face how much these multi-generational family photos meant to my mom..
If you’ve gone to the trouble of gathering the clan on the beach you want to make sure you come away with some fantastic images, images that show how truly cool and fun your family is as well as the bond of love between you. The kind of photos that will make you smile every time you look at them. So here’s a few tips on how to have a great Florida beach photo session with grandparents and grandkids: Continue reading “Three tips for great beach portraits with Grandma”
Totally diva-licious! Though I think my favorite images were still the traditional senior portrait looks..
We had a FANTASTIC fun time shooting these portraits of SPHS senior Pami out on the downtown Saint Pete waterfront. Contact us to schedule your own Beachcomber experience!
Today I’d like to introduce the first of our new crop of Beachcomber Ambassadors for the 2013/14 school year, Anik! (cue fanfare)
Among other things Anik’s big on fashion so we decided to go for a high fashion vibe with his first Beachcomber portrait session. Can you guess who the designer inspiration for this shot was? *grins*
Anik was amazing to work with, a natural in front of the camera, and we captured TONS of fabulous images. Our Tim was on fire! (Unlike the one special effects shot we tried that failed miserably despite my herculean efforts.) There’s so much gorgeousness here I can’t bear not to share it all…so I’m just going to have to do more than one post. ;p
p.s. No, we didn’t leave his sunglasses on the whole time, lol! Just wait til the next installment…
Who would have thought Pass-a-Grille Beach would be an awesome background to show off Amanda’s colorful style & skin art?
Our Tim, that’s who! *grins*
The feather drape has been a Florida senior portrait tradition since well before I was in high school and that was two decades ago. A deep red background and exquisite lighting combine to give a dramatic new take on the old tradition in this gorgeous portrait Tim took of a senior girl.
Love the classic Hollywood style of this senior boy’s portrait Tim created. Doesn’t he look like a post-millenial Gary Cooper?
With its delicious variety of different backdrops it’s no wonder Pass-a-grille Beach is a popular place for local photographers. It seems like every time we go out there we see several, hehehe!
On the evening Tim captured these images of three Pinellas county sisters we were graced with thick cloud cover. I was totally digging the way the colors of sea and sky reflected in Shawnee’s eyes..
While sister Dakotah was workin’ it like a supermodel..
Youngest sister Sierra was busy being distracted by her bff who was along for the ride so we didn’t do many solo shots of her. But we’ve already scheduled a best friends photo safari for just the two of them so we’ll make up for it later. And we did capture some really stunning images of the sisters together..
